The 1 MW Solar Power Project is built around four core objectives:
Generate electricity from an abundant and renewable energy resource.
Utilize a structured CEB PPA framework to support predictable project revenues, subject to applicable terms and approvals.
Develop a carefully planned solar facility that makes effective use of approximately 5 acres of suitable land.
Contribute to Sri Lanka’s renewable energy capacity and reduce dependence on conventional electricity generation.
The preferred site should be relatively flat, with a slope of less than 5°, outside protected environmental and wildlife areas, and have suitable road access.
Close proximity to a CEB grid substation with sufficient capacity to accommodate the 1 MW injection is critical to project feasibility.
The project has an estimated USD 1 million CAPEX and a preliminary 9.76-year base payback. Final financial performance will depend on the PPA terms, energy generation, operating costs, financing, grid requirements, and final project costs.
